On occasion of the Students basketball festival a special “All-Stars game” was held in Molot Sports Hall. The roster of the Star team included such names as Boris Gryzlov (speaker of the State Duma of Russian Federation), Sergey Ivanov (acting first prime minister of the Russian government), Alexander Konovalov (authorized representative of the Russian Federation president in our federal area), three Olympic games champions Sergey Belov, Ivan Edeshko and Alzhan Zharmukhamedov as well as former Russian NT players who finished their players’ career Evgeniy Pashutin, Igor Kurashov and Sergey Panov. Their opponents were the best players from the teams-participants of the Festival.

The game was held in two periods, seven minutes each. In a tough competition VIP team won students team 34-27.

The First Students basketball festival was held in Perm from the 21st to 23rd of September. It was the first event of the Students basketball association which was founded in April 2007.
