Grey Urals took the fourth place
Veterans team from Perm Grey Urals took the fourth place in the world maxibasketball tournament in the age category 50-55 years old. Among those who play in this team are the two former head coaches of Ural Great Vladimir Serebryakov and Vyacheslav Borodin. Captain of Grey Urals is Vitaly Torsunov the director of Prikamye sports gym which Ural Great used more than once to play its home games.
Vitaly Torsunov:
Our best game in the tournament was as it may sound strange our lost one against Dominican Republic. We defended well, played good offence but lost in the very end of the game. The opponents were a bit younger than us and in our age category every year plays a big role. Our worst game was vs. Zalgiris. Actually we were so frustrated with the way referees treated us in the semifinals that we could not motivate ourselves to play for the third place. Lithuanians whose captain was the famous player of the USSR national team Sergius Jovaisa easily won bronze medals.
Two years ago Grey Urals took the third place in the maxibasketball tournament held in New Zealand. Their best result ever were silver medals won in 1999 in Uruguay (they played in the age category of 40-45 years old).
