Ural Great goes to the Balkans
The draws for FIBA Europes 2007/2008 Eurocup season were conducted this weekend in Munich, Germany.
Ural Great will enter the competition from the second elimination round that will include 32 sides divided into pairings. In this round the clubs will play home and away games to determine the field of 16. Our clubs rival will be the winner in the pair of Spartak Pleven (Bulgaria) and AEP Olympias Patras (Greece) which will be known after the series of games are played on the 30th of October and 6th of November.
Ural Great assistant coach Roman Dvinyaninov comments on the result of the draw:
Both Olympias and Spartak are unknown to us. Ural Great played once again CSKA Sofia (Bulgaria) and Panionios (Greece) and I could tell that Greek teams look stronger than Bulgarian ones. Anyway there is no much difference for us which opponent to play against. We have an advantage to enter the competition from the 2nd elimination round because we have an opportunity to study both possible rivals.
