July 15 1999-2000 Season Team Roster
Yesterday night Ural Great Basketball Club got a fax singed by CSKA General Director asking to send Alexander Bashminov back to CSKA by July 19.
Perm Club Administration suggested CSKA to negotiate for buying all rights to the player or extending his rent for the next season...
Sergei Chikalkin, a forward from Avtodor (Saratov) promised to announce his decision on July 20...
July 14 Korac Cup - changing the dates
The schedule of 1st stage Korac Cup may change. At present Ural Great management is negotiating with Group L teams on changing the dates of several games to match Korac Cup games and hockey events. Maybe we will watch the first home game on October 6. It is rather difficult to do it as our opponent for this game will be the winner of the game in Kiev on September 22.  
We should also change the date of the home game with Kalnapilis (Lithuania) from November 17 to October 28 as the Ural Great Club is planning a tour in the USA starting on November 15.
At the same time Nobiles (Poland) asks to change the date of its home game from November 10 to November 9 for the reason of TV broadcasting.
July 14 Chomicius as assistant coach !?
Valdemaras Chomicius At today press conference it was announced that Valdemaras Chomicius might come to Ural Great as assistant coach. Speaking on the phone he agreed to discuss our offer and to take his decision in a week. If he says "yes" we will have Sergei Belov as head coach, Valdemaras Chomicius and Vladimir Poluyanov as assistant coaches.

July 13 World University Games - 99
World University Championships On July, 3 World University Games-99 have started in Palma-de-Mallorca (Spain).
Alexander Bashminov, Andrei Sheiko, Alexei Pegushin and Vyacheslav Shushakov are taken to the Russian national team.

July 12 Korac Cup Draw
Yesterday in Munich (Germany) there was Draw for European Cups. Ural Great is in Group L where it plays with Kalnapilis (Lithuania), Nobiles (Poland) and the winner of Gomel Wildcats (Belorussia) - CSKA (Ukraine). The first home game is on October 13 with Nobiles (Poland).
July 9 Ural Great - Kurashov & Pacesas?
Tomas Pacesas (photo from Maccabi Rishon site) The situation with Ural Great foreign players is getting clearer. Igor Kurashov is certain to try on the uniform next year (Vacallo, Switzerland).
As for the variants of American or Lithuanian pair of point guard - power forward (center) it is under consideration.
It is quite possible Tomas Pacesas (27,190 cm), a point guard from Lithuania who played for Israeli Maccabi (Rishon) join the team next season.
June 30 Ural Great preseason trainings
Vladimir Poluyanov Now it is the 3rd day of summer training. Vladimir Poluyanov says almost all players have improved their physical skills.. As to the newcomer Alexander Rybalko (Taganrog) the Ural Great coach is sure "he knows how to play football... "
Before Sergei Belov and players participating in EuroBasket-99 and World University Games-99 arrive our basketballers are involved in physical training and medical examination.
June 22 Belov comes to make Ural Great superclub
Alexandr Belov Sergei Belov, the head coach of  the Russian national team, beeing designated Ural Great head coach decides to improve the team roster. A group of  rookies arrive to the first preseason training. They are center Igor Kurashov (Vacallo), Swiss vice-champion last season, guards Evgeni Pashutin and Sergei Chikalkin (Avtodor) and Anton Yudin (Arsenal). If the club fails to satisfy the demands of these players we will rely upon players from the USA, Italy, Slovenia and Yugoslavia. Besides Belov also insists on getting back Mikhail Dmitriev (forward) leased to Kraitene (Lithuania) .
In the meantime Sergei Kushchenko the Ural Great General Director has reached agreement with one of the NT players - Valeri Tikhonenko saying if he decides to terminate his contract with CSKA Perm is the first in his list to deal with. As to the former Ural Great head coach Pavel Googe, he is going to raise his qualification in one of NBA training camps Training lasts 7 months, but it can be prolonged for one year. Before leaving overseas Googe will work with the Ural Great  farm team.

June 21 Streetball-99
Streetball-99 Yesterday the third open streetball championship finished in Perm.
The four days of the intensive work  finished.
On behalf of Ural Great Basketball Club we would like to thank all organizers and sponsors of the tournament and of course all participants and fans who came to the Yunost stadium.

June 19 Streetball-99: opening ceremony!!!
June, 19, 1999 - Opening of tournament As for political weight of its VIP visitors Perm streetball overtook even All Stars Game of Russia-99!
At the opening ceremony the greeting words were told to the participants of the tournament by Victor Chernomyrdin, Governor of the Perm Region Gennadi Igumnov and Deputy Head of the city administration Vladislav Petenko...

Soviet sport (logo) The Sovetski Sport newspaper announced the best annual booklet published by the Russian women's superleague clubs and the best Internet page of the teams playing in  men's championship.
The Ural Great site is called the most interesting and useful web-page. Its main advantage is complete information,  frequent updating and possibility on-line viewing the championship matches...
May 27 The Man of the Year in Russian basketball
Segey Kushchenko At the ceremony devoted to the end of  the 1998/99 basketball season the Russian Basketball Federation called Sergei Kushchenko General Director of the Ural Great Professional Basketball Club The Man of the Year.
