The history of the team started on June 16, 1995 when Ural Great Ballgames Support Fund was created. It united the players of the former Polytechnic team. Since then for 4 seasons already Ural Great has participated in the championships of Russia and moved far ahead.
In the season of 1995/96 Ural Great started with the High league. Though the season result was not great (the 24th place) everybody could see the progress of the team, the improvement of skills and the confidence of the team in its future.
The season of 1996/97 was more successful for Ural Great. Perm players showed high level game being the 2nd in Division B and entered Russian Basketball Superleague following Konic (Tymen).
The debut in the Superleague in the season of 1997/98 was impressive. The young team was the 18th in the list of the best teams of Russia. Ural Great passed all the tests, became the champion of East Division and was the 10th in the Fourth Championship of Russia.
Next 1998/99 season Ural Great won the East Division Championship for the second time, got to playoffs and was the 4th basketball team of Russia.
